Thank you for showing us your daughter engaged with the book. So often construction is considered “boy work” and the assumption is that a girl wouldn’t be interested. Yet, girls often are just as fascinated by big machines and developing construction sites as boys. In fact, all that construction probably enticed my daughter more than my son. She loved the loud noises and oversized power of machines and is now an engineer working on trucks. Jean’s book is a delight. Kudos too to Leo Timmers for the lively illustrations!
