Hi Dina!  I didn&#039;t put the back on when we were done and we did hang them in our windows without it.  The back of these frames where held in by little tabs that you fold down to hold the photo and back in place. I just folded the tabs over onto the glass when the glue was dry and it kept it the glass from falling out and allowed me to hang them on the window. :)]]></description>
